Yusra Amjad
Yusra Amjad is a Pushcart-nominated poet, comedian and activist from Pakistan who completed her MFA from Sarah Lawrence College on a Fulbright scholarship. Her work has been published in The Missing Slate, The Noble Gas Quarterly, L’Ephemere Review, Wasafiri, Dawn News and NONIIN Magazine. The main thing that I chose to exclude for a successful translation was the refrain which is also the title of the poem. I felt the poem would be much more impactful if this statement was only given away…
