Iman Ahmed is a multidisciplinary artist, writer and educator. She graduated with distinction from Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture and has participated in several national exhibitions including a two-person show Ecologies of Being at the Reservoir Art Gallery Lahore, and group shows including the Karachi Biennale’s performance art curtain-raiser Aaj aur Kal, VM Gallery’s Plasticity, the 8th IVS Alumni show, Candy Forest at the  World Culture Festival, Arts Council of Pakistan, Software Update at Cinema 73, and Ode to the Ordinary: uncommon dialogues at Koel Gallery. She has also curated and participated in international exhibitions including Notes from Akiota during the Inaka Residency Program 2026 in Hiroshima, Japan, Under the same sky in New York City, and Voices 2024 in South Korea at the Czong Institute of Contemporary Art (CICA Museum). She was awarded “Best Emerging Artist of 2024” at Biz  International’s Women in Business Awards.

Her fine art practice extends to curating and activating the streets as a Fearless Ambassador to Pakistan, following the completion of the Sri Lanka mural residency hosted by the Fearless  Foundation for the Arts. She also directed, designed and executed the Fearless Grant mural project at Khel Centre, Machar Colony, in collaboration with the Imkaan Welfare Organisation and another community mural in rural Japan.

Born in Karachi, she continues to base her practice there, drawing inspiration from the city’s gendered household spaces and its textile heirlooms. Her research interests focus on the history of drawing rooms in contemporary South Asia and the floral aesthetics that define these postcolonial domestic spaces, in relation to contemporary movements of patterns, heirlooms and gardens across time, space and ownership.
