The Kitchen Door

When my grandfather rebuilt our house for my father’s marriage, he replaced everything in the house except for this door, that leads to the kitchen. He wanted to keep something from the past, to remind himself of where he began.
I painted this in his memory, to remind myself of home when I’m far away from home.
