Nomads Within the Modern City

Lahore is home to more than half a million Khaanabadosh who live below the poverty line (G.O.D.H, 2020). Politically and socially disenfranchised, they are deprived of citizenship on the basis of their nomadic status and, along with it, access to basic amenities. This on-ground reality calls for a need to shift the focus of our narrative from the conventional towards a reconciliation of the notions of nomadism and architecture, in order to emphasize the idea of nomadic resistance within architecture.
