DECEMBER 2024: space, and existence in that space

Wuthering Heights

I hope you dream black and white.
Like before, and I stand there alone,
I stand alone with no other woman of the past
Because I am unmatched.

Your thoughts, I hope they haunt,
They haunt. I hope they turn contagious.
I hope you speak my name in your sleep,
The voice turning animalistic,
Your consciousness black-charcoal black.

I hope you go all the places in the world,
My name on walls, my name in churches.
Wives, girlfriends, sisters with the same name.
And you wouldn’t dare say it
Because you are so scared
Of what you dream.
